CorkSol UK contending in the Calderdale Business Awards

We're beyond excited to share that CorkSol UK were shortlisted for the Calderdale Business Awards in two categories: SME of the Year and Apprentice of the Year. This recognition highlights our dedication to innovation, sustainability and community support.

SME of the Year

At CorkSol UK, we pride ourselves on offering one of the most innovative and sustainable products in the construction industry. Our SprayCork product is a game-changer, known for its high performance in regulating heat, preventing dampness, and enhancing energy efficiency. Originally targeted at the domestic market in Yorkshire, we've expanded our reach, now partnering with housing associations to improve tenant living conditions and providing retrofit solutions for commercial heritage buildings.

Our growth isn't just about numbers; it's about people too. Since the start of 2023, we've created four new roles, bringing our team to ten members, with plans for another position soon. Our independent applicator network has also flourished, with 94 new companies joining in 2023, and 29 more in the first quarter of 2024. We’re invested in supporting their marketing efforts, helping these businesses grow alongside us.

Apprentice of the Year: Laura

We're also incredibly proud of Laura Midgley, our standout apprentice, who had been nominated for the Apprentice of the Year award. Laura recently completed her apprenticeship and now plays a vital role as our Marketing Assistant. Her journey with CorkSol UK exemplifies our commitment to nurturing young talent and supporting career growth.

We believe in the power of education and development, which is why we offer various growth programs for our staff. We also actively support young people in finding their first roles, currently hosting a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) associate and looking to offer placements for local school and university students.

Being shortlisted for the Calderdale Business Awards is a testament to CorkSol UK's dedication. We're honoured to be recognised and look forward to continuing our journey of growth and excellence.
