CorkSol Contracting Limited were appointed to oversee the application of CorkSol SprayCork on the alleyways between terraced properties for Great Yarmouth Council.
A number of their social housing properties were uninsulated with alleyways between the two properties, which resulted in cold bridging on the external walls.
Steven Everard, Project Surveyor for Great Yarmouth Council, said, "We needed a solution to deal with the core of the problem, which in turn was causing other issues. Thanks to its application at 6mm, CorkSol were able to provide a solution with one material that solved it all."
On the appointment of CorkSol Contracting, Project Manager Danny Tunstall explains, "The solution was to use CorkSol's SprayCork for a number of reasons. Firstly, it will stop the cold bridging and make the properties more thermally efficient, and secondly, because it is a thin coat material it also doesn't encroach the space so the alleyways continue to be usable. We have been able to transform these properties at speed and with minimal disruption to the tenants."
