LM Finishes, part of the CorkSol Independent Applicator Network, and a member of the QualiCork scheme, have worked on a project in Chudleigh, Devon.
The customer was experiencing water ingress through the chimney due to cracked render. They wanted it repaired and sealed with a product that would not crack and was low maintenance. Cork is a naturally flexible material, which makes it resistant to cracking.
Being a solid wall property, the customer also wanted to receive the thermal benefits that cork provides, as older properties tend to be colder and allow heat to escape, generally due to a lack of insulation. SprayCork can reduce heat loss through solid stone walls by up to 30%, making it a great option for extra insulation.
Due to the age of the property, the customer favoured a thin wall solution to keep the historic character of the building. SprayCork is applied at a thin layer of 4-6mm, maintaining the texture beneath.
“We are over the moon with the results and feel that our vision of refreshing our property whilst keeping the original characterisitcs was met. We have booked for LM Finishes to complete the other end of the property and extension later this year.”
